Caged Hystrix is one of eight sidearms in Mortal Shell 2, the offhand slot that fires on Resolve rather than ammunition. It accepts seventeen Tarstones, nine of which go in every sidearm in the game — so eight of them are what separate it from the other seven. Reward for beating Sariel the Endless in the Chamber of Becoming.

Effect
Goads the creature caged inside it into lashing out, firing a spread of quills rather than a single projectile.
Our take
Beating Sariel the Endless gets you both this and, on the same trip, the Clockwork Scythe. A spread weapon on a Shell built around taking damage to deal it is not an accident of layout.
