Droeg, the Conquerer is one of 45 bosses in Mortal Shell 2, fought in Conquered Temple. Beating it drops Conqueror's Reward and Gloom.
Our take
The Conquered Temple's boss, in a kingdom half-buried in snow. The Conqueror's Reward it drops is a run of piercing forward thrusts — a straight-line ability for a region full of narrow paths.
How to beat Droeg, the Conquerer
Getting there
Droeg is at the far end of the Conquered Temple, in snow, and the way in runs past Urrig the Executioner and the Ovate Chamber beacon. The beacon is close enough to the arena that the walk back after a loss is short, which matters more here than usual.
How the fight is shaped
Two phases split by a visual rather than a health threshold: when its head and its weapon start giving off pale flame, the fight has changed. The first half is a large figure with a bone club and a lot of reach; the second half adds the arena itself.
The club work is heavy and slow to start, which makes the first half the half you learn on. The second is about staying in motion.
What to actually do
- Let the ground slams finishThe overhead smash is chained, and the sources do not agree on how many times — one reports as many as five, the other describes a set of three. Either way the mistake is the same: stepping in on the last one you counted rather than on the last one it throws.
- Respect the sweep's reachWhen the club comes off its back and goes horizontal, the safe distance is further out than it looks, and the sweeps chain too. Standing at what feels like the edge of the arc is standing inside it.
- Dodge the stomp at the topIt is much larger than you and the foot is a real attack. Roll as the leg reaches its height rather than as it comes down, which is late enough that the tracking has already committed.
- Keep moving through the barrageIn the second half it pulls debris out of the arena and throws it. The pieces are small and hard to pick out in the air, so the answer is not reading them individually — it is never standing still until the volley is over. It drops to the ground first, which is your cue to start.
- Bring something that answers a burnOne source states the barrage stacks a burn on you and recommends carrying protection against it, and our own trophy line for this fight reads like a joke about burning. The other describes the same attacks as ice. Carry the answer to fire and you will have covered the more likely reading.
Where the record disagrees. The elemental disagreement here is total: one wiki calls the second-phase damage frost, the other calls it burn and recommends gear against burn specifically. Nothing in our own records settles it beyond the wording of the trophy.
Written from our own catalog and from what the community has documented, checked against both of the major Mortal Shell 2 wikis. Where those two disagree, this page says so rather than picking one quietly.
