Beginner Progression & Team Setup Guide

Optimize your starter class roster, setup the best battle formation, allocate early skill tree points, and unlock your first helper pet.

Getting started in Task Bar Hero is simple, but optimizing your class lineup and skill allocation early on ensures fast progression through the game's stages.

1. Hero Class Evaluations

Selecting a balanced team from the playable Heroes Database is key. The roster contains 6 classes:

- S-Tier (Essential):

o Knight: The premier frontline tank. Focuses on high HP and Armor scaling to protect the rest of the party.

o Priest: The only active healer. Essential for team survival and provides massive damage multipliers. (Free DLC option).

- A-Tier (Strong):

o Hunter: Ranged DPS utilizing ice attacks to freeze stage bosses. (DLC option).

o Sorcerer: High magic AoE damage and minion summons.

- B-Tier (Situational):

o Ranger: Fast physical ranged attacks. Reliable starter DPS before unlocking advanced classes.

o Slayer: Close-combat physical melee DPS whose role overlaps with the Knight. (DLC option).

2. Recommended Starter Formation

To survive high-difficulty stages, position your team using this exact frontline-to-backline sequence:

[ FRONT LINE: Knight ] ➔ [ MID LINE: Priest ] ➔ [ BACK LINE: Ranger or Sorcerer ]

The frontline Knight absorbs all enemy strikes and boss attacks, while the mid-line Priest heals the tank and provides damage multipliers to the backline DPS class.

3. Early Skill Builds (Levels 1–19)

Smart skill point allocation decides how fast you push stages. You can customize active and passive skills on the Skills & Passives page.

#### Knight (Frontline Tank)

- Levels 1-10: Allocate 8 points into Health Boost (Priest heals scale off the target's max HP).

- Levels 10-19: Max out Armor Boost (8/8) immediately. Armor is the Knight's most critical defensive stat.

#### Ranger (Ranged Physical DPS)

- Levels 1-10: Focus on Attack Damage boost first (Attack speed is inefficient early due to low base weapon values).

- Levels 10-19: Equip Rain of Arrows (for AoE clearing) and put remaining points into Crit Chance Boost.

#### Priest (Support & Healer)

- Levels 1-10: Max out your active Heal skill and HP Boost (Priest stands close to the frontline).

- Levels 10-19: As soon as the slot opens, unlock and max Blessing of Strength to grant the party a +50% damage buff.

4. Unlock the Bat Pet Companion

Unlocking companion pets grants permanent, account-wide passive boosts. Compare unlock requirements and passives for other companions on the Pets Database page.

- Bat Companion Passive Stats: +10% Common Chest Drop Chance, +15% EXP Gain.

- How to Unlock: Farm Stage 1-7. The high spawn rate of bats here makes it the best location to farm bats.
